I would not have an issue re-using a gearbox circlip as long as there are no signs of twisting, damage or distortion after removing them and they are fitted and re-seated correctly

Providing you use the correct tools they should be okay to reuse them.

Circlips are often referred to as "Jesus clips" the term comes from the propensity of the clip's spring action to launch the clip at a high velocity when removing or installing.
Typical remarks when the clip comes detached from the tool are "Oh Jesus, where did it go" or "Oh Jesus, we're gonna die."  Laughing

but as always its your shout  Wink

Hi There,
Thanks for the replies.
I've been looking into these circlips P/N's and apart from being unavailable (Theres a f#@king surprise) they are going for around $10 each on evil bay  Shocked
I agree that I would always use new ones if I could access them at a reasonable price but it pains me to pay $10 plus for a damn circlip.
I have not skimped on circlip pliers I have the best set so if I'm careful and inspect them carefully I feel I should be good.
Remembering that new ones are deformed when you use them reinforces my confidence.
Hey Steve I remember my time in freight bays changing drive belts and motors and Jesus clips was the right phrase....sometimes finding them 20 ft away LOL
