I am a newbie on here having bought back my original Ian Dyson KH250. I bought it new in March 81 at 17 from my local Kawasaki dealership. Whilst looking for some parts for my Rickman I saw it advertised on e bay so bought it back. I have posted a picture of me with her in 81 and a picture the day she arrived back below.

Having stripped her down over the last 3 weeks time has not been good but we can rebuild her! Frame is now back from the powder coaters so the rebuild begins. I have managed to source some S2 cabs barrels pistons and heads from good old USA. With the weight of all that bodywork the 250 will be well underpowered. (plus my 15 stone).

I am surprised at how many sites there are for the triples. Its been great for seeking advise and parts.

Cheers padders.

Its never fails to amaze me what comes up on Ebay.I lad who lives up in the Orkneys!! had a KH250 B5 in the early eighties. He asked me to keep my eyes open for it.And FOOK ME did'nt it turn up on Ebay the next week

Yes we will have the Higgspeed pipes on display on 2 bikes at Stafford. So you will be able to hear before you buy :D We should have 2-3 sets to sell and we will be taking orders.

Throttle cables are a bit of a problem at the moment. The repro ones i have been selling are CRAP so i have discontinued them and have not found an alternative supplier as of yet.

Nice bike mate.I always wondered how the extra weight/better aerodynamics ulimately panned out on them bikes. What is your take on it from your memories of first time around and also generally how did your bike really stack up against the RD's and GT's of the day?

Well if I am honest it went this way.

In the car park no contest looked like a big bike sounded the dogs bollocks with the allspeeds. Roll up girls for a ride. :-D

On the road all that extra weight on top of an already heavy bike

RD's left me for dead if the rider was any good. I had to use all my skill plus shut my eyes and go for it to stand any chance of beating them in a race.

HOWEVER the sound beat all the twins DEAD :-D

I restored an X7 3 years ago and it was a big disappointment. Relies on 8 stone teenagers to reach any decent speed.

All in all I will need the 350 heads barrels and carbs to get over the weight dis advantage. Bike plus me :D
