It gets worse. I just sold a CB77 Superhawk I was going to turn into a cafe racer, but I figure the triple will serve that purpose. So, last week, I bought not 1 but 2 Yamaha 50cc FS1's.I thought I could make 1 good one from the 2.
This is not the FS1E with the training pedals that you guys got,no,no,it has a 5 speed and autolube! These were so cheap I couldn't resist.
Will be great to keep me out of the pub over winter. :D |

Yep.May do.Auction runs another 6 days. Have to see how the bidding goes.
Wonder which seal is leaking though? Owner says you can change seal without having engine out.Is that likely to be the case if it's a crank seal??? |

Saw the KH on a New Zealand auction site about 2 months ago and bought it. The guy selling it bought it in Holland in 1988,stored it away until 2002 when he emigrated to NZ.It has done less than 20km in the last 20 years.Never been on the road here....yet! Speedo reads 14646km gen k's.Very original bike as far as I can tell.Just like it came except for the rather cool handlebars which someone has fitted at some time. What's missing is the toolkit, toolkit strap and the owner's handbook from under the seat....oh,and no mirrors.
Found this group via the net.Good to see that there is a group interested enough in these triples.I may be asking some questions,as my knowledge of Kawasaki triples is near zero.........for now!
It's a keeper for sure.I just love the lines of the bike, and even though it's only a 250,I can forsee a lot of fun being had with this little timewarp gem.
I haven't attempted to kick her over yet.I haven't been able to dislodge the baffles, they appear to be well carboned up,so I guess it's off with the exhausts and clean out is sort of first on the list.
Look forward to more chat with you guys out there.
Here's a couple of pix.. |

Yes you can change this seal without splitting crankcases, but it is a bit of a pain in the arse.
Go get it, its a nice bike :thumright: |

| OK simonh, so it can be done.Thank you for that info.Hard to say what sort of money it may get to by next Thursday. The 500's and 750 triples are the ones that get some top bucks here, more so than the smaller ones.Been looking at prices of triples in the UK.Seems that they are more in demand there, and fetch much more than they do down this neck of the woods.Lucky old us ! |
