|
|
Hi all I new here and have recently bought a KH250 B1 1976 absolutely standard and would like help with carb settings as I have heard the settings for middle carb are different to outside ones. the bike starts but very slow revving ie takes a while to catch up with throttle action.
Any help would be appreciated

Hi , and welcome to the forum.
Whats your name??
Anyway, it is quite common for the carbs to clog up and there is no quick fix. you need to remove them all, strip them right down and methodicaly clean them all out. pay particular attention to the pilot jet and the pilot jet bleed holes. make sue eveything is spotless and rebuild, setting them to standard settings if you are using original airbox and pipes.
Unless your tank is pristine , or has been sealed, be prepared to do this regularly as the crap from a rusty tank will block the pilots again in a heartbeat.
You will soon get to "hear" when this happens again as the engine goes from being crisp and responsive to being dull and lethargic wnhen you rev it.
Also blocked mains will result in seizure.
look here for standard settings

oh and make sure the timing and points are set up right too.

we are a friendly lot so dont be shy.
Cheers

Hi Tom,
looks like it has not been used for a while. another top tip is to clean out the screw on feed at the bottom of the oil tank as they fill up with gunge and cause expensive seizures too.
Looks complete though, should make a nice bike.

Tom it will be cheaper for you to buy a set off dave rather than rechroming your old ones Approx £150 a pipe
nice tidy bike you got there though, and it looks all there , like dave says it will be a the grud in the tank and carbs strip the carbs down thoroughly then you can erradicate any problems one by one
Cheers

Just click the link on my signature to visit the website for prices etc.
i am not on here just to sell pipes though, yours will probably be fine for a while as they are. you have plenty of other things to spend money on first by the looks of things .

But back to the carbs, Yep clean, clean, clean before you try any setting up.
I'm a recent convert to Ultrasonic at home for carbs..
