you meet the nicest people on a Kawasaki !!Just got back from the TT where as i probably told you already i was marshalling. Anyway, i was sat there one day waiting to be escorted up the mountain the wrong way (ooh err missus) when a spectator comes over and asks to take my photo  . 2 days later , same time same place, he comes up to me a shows me a print of the photo ! Then he askes for me e mail address to e mail it to me. This is the result...........
He also says he says some video footage to send me 'cos the sound was ace!
I will post that video footage if it turns up.

Hi,
I am preparing a KH250 to race in the classic racing here in belgium.
I am looking for expansion pipes.
Are the pipes that you make the same for the 400 as for the 250 ? Are they specially calculated for the 250 ?
Thanks
Sincerely
Pieje

nice one peije, you'll struggle against rd's and gt's as they all cheat and bump up to 350

exactly what I was thinking. I am doing some research to go to 350 or 400 without changing the look of the cylinders, any advice ?
there is an other guy running an S1 (original pipes) and he is 72 years old !!!

early 72 S1 cylinders have more meat' and can be bored to 350cc, i've heard, machine heads too, or just swap out to 350 barrels /heads, which fit on 250 crankcases,.....
to run 400's need crankcases machining, but has been done, also different shape to heads so can be spotted at mile away, prefer to run 250 /350 pipes with smaller triples, and 400 have different (bigger) expansion pipes,...... :thumright:

brian is correct, although those s1 barrels are VERY rare. 350 barrels have more fins, so can be spotted, but are a straight spot on fit.
A mild tune, and bumping upto 400 carbs will help. If you want specs I will dig them out for you. Try and get dencos or modify le sport or allspeeds to a similar spec. it is the first taper and centre section that is critical on the 250/350.
Also upgrade clutch to 400, you will also need the drivegear off the crankshaft as it is a different size. Clutch is not for the extra power (!) but so you can agressively clutch slip to get out the corners quicker.
Also try and weigh as close to 70 kilos as you can :thumright:

The great advantage of early S1 barrels rebored to 348 cc that it's still marked on the barrel 248cc.
S2 barrels have 7 fins compare to the 6 fins 250 triple and are marked 348.
