Yorkshire two stroke meeting.

Is there any one on this forum that may be interested in a two stroke get together in Yorkshire at the Squires Cafe, the bikers cafe near Sherburn in Elmet.
I will be trying to get as many two strokes as possible to meet up on the 25th of July 2009. This is the Saturday before the VJMC show at LOTHERTON HALL.

If this year has a good turn out then I plan to turn it into a full rally next year with a band on the Saturday night and trophies for best bikes .
Any one planning to go to lotherton hall on the Sunday will be able to camp on the Saturday night and go there on the Sunday, It's only about 3 miles from the cafe.
The Cafe has full camping facilities with showers and toilets at a very good price
( £2 last year ) and the beer in the pub is great.

I plan on meeting up between 2pm & 4pm on the 25th July 2009 for a get together,
and if anyone wants a rideout after that for a few hours calling in to a fish and chip shop for some tea. The ones that are camping Saturday night can then go back to the cafe for a load of beer !!!!!!.

I'm addicted to two strokes of all kinds, but at the Minuit I'm a Yamaha man, I have a rd 400  a tdr 250 and a dt 175.

There is so much interest in the get together it looks like it may be a good turn out. Weather permitting.

Sorry Becky, I rather expect you to say Yamaha 'Girl' there. Welcome either way.

Will see you there, but it's not worth staying over as I'm only down the road.
As Al says it usually pisses down, but only until Sunday Morning, Lotherton is renowned for it's scorching weather.

Next Weekend Folks!!

Saturday and night at Squires for the Two Stroke meeting, then Lotherton on the Sunday.

About three miles between the two venues..

Weather looks like shit up to Thursday so far, Lotherton has a bit of a reputation for good weather though so fingers crossed.

thanks to Phill [becky] for a good do was a good turn out of strokers on the saturday went on a ride out to helmesly and back to squires about 100 miles but there was only a handfull that stayed over but its a good venue free camping and the beer was ok food was at a fare price bar was open for breki at 7.30 24 hour toilets and showers as well.
the 400 had a good work out 330 miles over the 2 days and was loaded up like this for the trip down and back

Enjoyed the day at squires as well Eric, I thinks its going to be a regular event
heard you left early on sunday morning , to miss the rain ,but it didnt rain until after 4.00pm at lotherton non of our guys ended up taking there bikes as it was forecasted to rain earlier , I wish I Had taken it now    

for those of you who left before the judging

winners of the Kawasaki bikes were

3rd Kh250 Blue B3
2nd ZZR 1100
1st Kh250 Green B3 (mark tyson)

a good scoop really for the triples, consisdering there was only 2 h2s, 1 H1, and 3 KHs with 2 of the khs getting trophys

Beckys two stroke day had wall to wall sunshine but for Lotherton??
The weather threatened all week right up to 10:00 on the day.
We got geared up just as the rain started so we decided against it and went in the car.
The rain stopped and only gave a few spots at the show, some sun was also seen... DAMN!

Thanks to all who attended    The KH lads did me proud, good to meet some of you as well. The ride out was a bit of a fuck up to be honest    I will have to sort this out for next year and maybe a better time as people seemed to want to go straight home from the cafe. For a first time event you have to expect some teething troubles I suppose. See you all next year, and thanks to you all. May see some of you at the north east rally.
PS, glad to see you got home alright Eric.

What happened? we did think that Helmsley was a little optimistic at that time in the Afternoon.

But missed the ride out!!

I was too busy gabbing, we saw people set off for the fill up and thinking we had a little time we chased off eventually too but when we got to Milford there was no one? You must have had an F1 style pit stop at the fill up.

So we did the Milford - Cawood - York bit in about 15 mins flat, but still no sign of any stragglers, waited at the roundabout at McArthur park thinking that we must somehow be ahead, then gave up and had a stroll round York instead...

Perhaps next year then, and maybe the big bike too... was a great day out otherwise, thanks Becky.
