Is that getting much hotter when ticking over or when ridden?
Is the plug showing signs of distress, white deposits or glazed appearance?
Is the carb sealing onto the inlet stub properly?
Try swapping that carb and one of the others, see if you can move the problem around.

The problemo seems to be ticking over well i think dont want to ride it and hole a piston. the white smoke out the right side has stopped and the plug was always wet and the left one dry now she runs on three but lean as a butchers dog..

o i c. if timings right and carbs somewhere near, take it for a ride, its aircooled so needs air to cool it. never get a true running condition till you've had a rideout (half hour of progressive riding not all banshee)
its pretty hot and humid at the mo, so will get false indicator of heat when idling

Hi,
you cant just fit points and condensors , you 100% sure about timing?
if your back to standard settings on carbs and timing,
low circuit blockage in the pilots is very common, dirty petrol /tank,
and crank seals will give low down power probs too,

Hi chaps just swapped carbs and problem came with the carb ? the other cylinder got hot !! i know the float heights are wright and there seems to be no blockages any ideas good call wolfman

One of the best things about fault finding a triple... you have a spare kit of parts already there waiting to try.
You're almost there now, well done Bubba.

Me again just checked the carb and noticed that the pilot jet looked smaller than the old ones so swapped it and it made a little differance but still a little hotter even on the road .where should the clips be on the needles they where in the middle when i got the bike is that wright ?

When setting carbs up, people tend to jet them so the needles are on the middle clip, but realistically the clip should be in whichever position the bike runs the best.

Cheers wolfman think i have an odd! carb when i bought the bike matey just chucked three in the box and on further inspection the one playing up had a differant needle. Witch must have worn the needle tube and then i put the new ones in and the pilot jet wrong has made it over heat! .i'll get a new tube see if that sorts it out..
