Been trying to find some actual figures for MPL, but not so far
You should go for several hundred miles from a full tank, even when the window is empty there must be over a hundred miles worth left, I regularly run both bikes with an empty window without any fear...
I have an oil sensor in their tanks from a Yamaha.

but running them all over in the horsebox wont use any oil

I knew that picture would turn up eventually!! My turn to be the one with the spanners out. I still haven't put any oil back in, if there's none in there it can't come out see?
I must have followed you lot for nearly 10 miles with oil all over the front tyre... eek.
