SQUEAKY FRONT BRAKE.A couple of months ago I overhauled the front calliper and fitted new pads. Since then they have been silent operating, until this last week. When I brake lightly or heavily they are OK, but when I brake "normally" they squeak. Anyone got any ideas on this please? Are KHs prone to this at all?
Thanks, John. :-D

always found a small amount of copaslip grease on the rear of the pads will help dampen the resonation of the pads when you brake at medium pressure.this is a fairly common occurance because all pads are now made of a harder compound because of the ingredients used in brake linings to substitute asbestos.

Thankyou for your infinite wisdom Simon, but I reckon I may give that one a miss. :-D :-D :-D I would use lard from the Sunday joint, then I could enjoy the smell.

I just got my S3 finally on the road and it too has an extremely loud squeal with moderate pressure on the front brake. New kaw. pads on a caliper rebuild.
Questipon is can I partially disassemble the caliper to get the pads out so i can put anti squeak grease on the back of them without having to completely take the caliper off the bike? I'm trying to not have to rebleed the system. It's been awhile since I restored this bike and forget how the caliper came apart. Service manual not alot of help with just changing the pads out...
Thanks in advance,
Nick

its easier on the s3 than it is on the kh, just undo the bolts and swing caliper clear, it may be tight on the disc. it may be a squeeze to get it back on too
