S3 to KH400 conversion

Has anyone done a total conversion of an S3 frame with KH motor and wiring harness? What I'm wondering now is how to mount the CDI box. Can someone post a pic of the KH frame where the CDI mounts under the tank? I can change the battery box and any other bolt-ons but will I run into other mismatches like this? I don't want to weld tabs on the frame to mount things. I still plan to paint this bike in the 77 KH400 Candy Emerald Green even if I can't get the correct tank w/locking cap. I don't have a title for this bike and I'm not against swapping frames but I don't want to get stuck paying through the nose for a 76 or 77 title. I like the CDI and prefer to go that route if I can. I know there are many who believe the KH400 CDI is the most unreliable of the bunch, but I will have spares.
Just fishing for opinions, everybody has one, right?

Update: I have decided to go with option #1. I will keep the points and not have to change wiring or mess with mounting anything that Kawasaki didn't put there! I may still go with the '77 candy emerald green though. :D
