Royal FailI'd just like to say what a load of wankers the postal employees are, I wouldn't mind them striking if they where worth the money they get but they aren't, I've had several items lost this year at a cost of around £300!! and all the compensation I was offered was a book of first class stamps!
Get back to work you lazy tossers and try to provide a half decent service then you might get a pay rise.

The people who do the actual work are prevented from giving a decent service by the bleedin management (and accountants).
Oh and by the way, the word 'service' no longer applies, it's a business now.
But yes, It's crap (just don't blame the workers).

I sent a postal order for £98 from Crystal Palace to Bolton in March, I payed for first class recorded delivery, the postal order didn't arrive so I went back to the post office to find out what happened to it, the postal order was cashed in Crystal Palace the same day at another post office! I was offered a book of first class stamps!
This had nothing to do with Management!
How many times have you posted an important letter or parcel and worried about it getting there?
The "business" they offer is a joke.

gotta agree with you cabbie...A guy paid cash for an rd350 that i sold on ebay.He sent me £1100 by special delivery in a silver envelope.Allegedly this is the safer way of sending cash.Anyway the lazy wanker postman tried to deliver the parcel but i wasn't in to sign for it so he forged a signature and posted it through my letter box anyway. It did turn out ok as i got my cash and the guy ended up with his bike but it could of gone wrong in so many ways

I worry about every single one, but the only people to ever let me down are parcel couriers, I can't think of anything going astray via the P O, did your dog bite a postman in an earlier life?
Management set the policies and put the obstacles in the path of the workers, usual business crap you know..
One of the reasons for a single delivery per day is that the rounds now take much longer, nothing to do with the amount of leg work, maybe the areas covered have increased but, the time spent arranging and posting the junk mail adds a significant amount of time to each visit, postie HAS to deliver it (cos it generates an income), even if/when it takes him out of his working time and the normal mail is then returned to the office undelivered.
I find the shops themselves very hard work, never enough staff to empty the shop etc. One of the reasons behind that now, is that you spend time queuing and looking at their advert TVs (which generates an income), now who thought of that? the shop staff? I doubt it.
Oh, I don't and never have worked for the P O.
Whilst striking pisses us all off, I really do think your blaming the wrong people.. two sides and all that.

Kas, I read that as.. Your postman stuck his neck on the line to get you your important post.
If he signed your name then it's a forgery, a criminal offence without doubt, if he signed his own name then he's taken the responsibility for it's safe delivery.
A lesser mortal might have signed it and fooked off with it.

Me too, our postie knows it's a safe place, is that being lazy?
He will be under pressure to produce the statistics for the end of the month, another workers idea?
