removing stanchion from lower secHi guy's
I'm having trouble getting the allen bolt out of the bottom of the forks,it spins in the stanchion, I've done the 500's came apart lovley, but the 250's being a cow!! there now lying in the bottom of the parts washer?
anybody got any idear's

There is a special tool, I think I made one years ago by cutting a slot in an old socket and welding it onto a bar, it fits onto the other side of the allen bolt thro' the fork tube.
Having said that, for the last 25 years I have managed to undo the allen screw by putting a bit of compression on the fork leg while you give the allen bolt a whack. A proper allen bit in a 1/2" ratchet helps here to get good leverage.
Obviously you do this before you dismantle the fork leg and drain the oil.
