re-chroming pipes ?Hi. I have recently bought a KH400, which is in quite good nick apart from the pipes. They seem to have escaped most of the usual scuffs & dents but the chrome is knackered. Anyone had pipes re-chromed and could recommend somewhere ? Be interested in the cost too ! I know most chromers won't touch used 2 stroke exhausts due to the crap inside them contaminating their expensive chemicals, which is fair enough.
I'm guessing decent secondhand pipes are like gold dust ?
Any advice would be appreciated.

What decent secondhand pipes??
Several chromers will do your pipes, most will do them when the baths are due to be changed, which means you get a lower quality job.
Try Prestige Chromers in Mexborough, they are good, but will polish everything, no good if you're wanting an original finish look.
Vernon Moss in Brighouse, is very good, he will only polish the bits you tell him to, but will cost you more.
Not sure of the 'going rate' these days.

I used to live in Hull & Leconfield & Howden
Even the rough parts of beverly are posh compared to Bransholme !!
(no I didn't live there!!!)
I used to work for Staddons Autocycles in Sutton & then for Spares Unlimited on Hessle rd

Hi Gary.
You didn't rate Bransholme then ? Not even the "senna" ?
Not heard of Staddons but have used Spares Unlimited a few times including at their old shop on Spring Bank.
