so after seeing simons polisher that he pinched of ade, i fancy setting one up with a cheap drill in a vice, which way do i want it rotating??
g6mow

You can get a bench grinder for the price of a cheap drill, AND its safer
sweet angel

I got Harv one of these

make sure its at least a 350watt motor or they are crap!
ståle

It should rotate like a bench grinder. Get a motor from an old washing machine if you want to save a few quid.

Just nick one from one of the new machines at work
simonh

cheap drills are 15 quid
g6mow

Would'nt be powerfull enough

Stay away from the drill mate.
garyb

soon as u put anything up against it it'll stop
kas750

i would agree with that.350w minimum. The thing is with a polshing mop and a wire wheel it will save so much effort that it will definitely pay for itself mate...
simonh

i'll do it the hard way, like i always used to

bead blast then 800 1000 1200 then tons of elbow grease
ståle

Even if you have a good machine, wet sanding will always get you a better result.

..that's wet sanding before you polish on the machine..
