Oil Pump swop for a mix in tank on KH B3

i,m looking at all ways to eliminate my B3 running problems (black wet oily plugs, lots of white smoke, erratic running) and yes I have got the pump set correctly.... I,m thinking of disconnecting oil pump and doing a mix in the tank like I used to when I rode Moto X in the 80's . My reason is just to see if theres any improvement whatsoever .... Does anyone know what the ratio of mix in the tank is cus i,m not sure.. i.e. 25:1  50:1  ???

if your bike is oiling like that with the white smoke it needs a good thrash to clear the pipes, when it all clears out check the plugs for dryer plug running, if the white smoke returns most likely the r/h seal on end of crank is knackered,.. :smt102

good advice from brian :thumright: also a change to full synthetic oil will drastically reduce oil smoke, also maybe even reduce the oil pump settings slightly. but as brian says a right thrashing for maybe 5 to 10 miles usually sorts the problem.bear in my kawasaki marketed this bike for daft 17 year olds and were probably afraid of excessive warranty claims so all settings will be on the generous side. :thumright:

White smoke is usuall from really excessive oil in the combustion but give her a decent rideout before condemning the oil works, getting rid of the pump arrangement permanently is more hassle than it's worth, but should be fine just for a not too vigorous test tankful.

Modern synthetics, hell probably even 4in1! is better than the seventies two stroke stuff, but avoid silkolene, several members have had problems with it gumming up the top endery.

After your long rideout, if you still have white smoke issuing forth then I would suspect that gearbox oil is getting in there somehow.

Let us know how it goes.
