mpgJust worked it out for the last 170 miles, average of 15 mpg 
when going onto reserve it kills the rh plug, it is running less rich bottom end now i've dropped the needles, but still balks at full throttle below 4500rpm, rolls on fine, further fiddling required

S2A 400 carbs GT 380 chambersI think I have my jetting pretty close now. I am running 400 carbs ( I think KH400 as they had #20 pilot jets) needles 1 lean with 100 main jets , emgo filters. airscrews at 15/8 turns. Plugs are too white for my taste but it's not pinging. I rode it to the Dr. today and back and got 20 MPG some in town and some very spirited riding country roads on the return. Linear on acceleration to 6000 and it pulls hard to 9000.

TNT pipes and pods,
kh400 carbs with s3 spec slides, 95 mains and 1 up on the needle notch, with the 2sizes up bigger pilots it needs sorting wont run right under 3.5k, smaller pilots and fiddling req,..never let me down yet, plugs dry brown, in thousands of miles,
its true just big handfulls of throttle = 15mpg....thats where the fun is,

gonna strip down carbs in a minute when i've had me cuppa!
might try my pods for a bit too, see what happens

spent the morning setting my carbs, so running 2.5 slides, 20 pilots and 90 mains, all floats correct, all carbs balanced and dropped the needle one clip
fuel tap is leaking (through the pipes) when in 'off' position
now up to 20mpg and more rideable, but still horrible at 30mph, but 40mph is bearable now

if your airscrew is out more than 1 1/2 with fastest tickover set by airscrew (eg 2 full turns out), you need bigger pilots to bring back in to spec, i find 95's are optimum for no WOT shutdown, with tnt's,
