Looking to buy a KH 400Hi,
I came across this KH400 and am really keen on buying it - unfornately I have no idea about them.
Can anyone help me out and let me know what they think of this, originality etc?. The seller says it's only 70% complete, but I don't know what I'm looking at. What kind of price would this go for?

Really appreciate your help on this.

I'd say that's a good deal too, providing there's no unexpected noises from the engine.

Yes good deal because its not a KH400 its an S3A

The bike is a non runner, as he couldn't get the mechanical timing set up although it has run on 3 cylinders but it eventually dropped out to one. He's suggested Boyer ignition to sort it out.
One of the pipes is corroded an needs replacing, plus the wheels need re-spoking.
I've looked at write ups on triples in 'motorcyle mechanics' and they look to be pretty tricky to set up - so perhaps if i buy it I may end up having bitten off more than I can chew!!

So is a better buy if it's a S3A and does that make it original?

76 should be a KH and that one has the lockable fuel cap, I see the grab rail has no mounts but what else have you guys spotted?

I have seen quite a few S3A's on a P/ 76 plate.
I'm just going off the front end and grabrail. I cannot see anyone replacing a KH front end with a S3/S3A.
Lockable cap yes, but
We need numbers and is it CDI or points.

The bike has points, which he can't get to work, however the frame and engine nos don't match. As it was built up out of a box, my concern would really not knowing what you're getting until you get stuck into it.
If the engine has been rebuilt this could be a problem.
