led lights vs standard

do they really pull less current or is that bollocks

8) definatley less,...thats why rechargable wind up torches, inspection lights etc are all Leds now,
15 Leds = 3.6v on my torch,...ya' cant look at it  :o
simonh

cool, might be playing then 8)

very low current consumption. but leds are very directional so only really good for tail lights and front marker lamps unless you have a very high tec reflector....
ja-moo

I just convereted mine. They seem to have very little power draw.

simonh

cool john 8)  didnt even dim!
The Wolfman

The current drawn for a 40 LED brake light is so low that the bulb warning indicator gives a false alarm, so guess what?

I had to hide a small bulb in the tail piece!

ok for rear and turns, but no spread /crap for a headlight,.. 8)
180kid

perhaps 500....
simonh

its the rear i was planning

when i was running mini indicators, i had a brace of bulbs in the tailpiece - so the relay worked
The Wolfman

Fit a car indicator relay (3 terminals), then it has a wider tolerance of bulb wattage for a good flash rate.

Simple mod, two wires as usual, then another wire from relay pin 3 to ground.

Then Robert is your mother's brother.
