No idea, but ask Simon, i believe he is an expert on such matters.

There is usually an import/export command.
In IE it is in the "File" pull down menu, then click "Export Favourites", save the file onto a pen drive or similar and repeat on your new computer using "Import Favourites".
I can't remember where it is in Firefox but it will be there somewhere. If you sort out IE first, then install Firefox it will automatically import your settings including favourites.

Firefox favourites are in a file called bookmarks.htm usually found in or around the area of:-
Documents and Settings\(USER)\Application Data\Mozilla\Browser\(some name or number).default\

Just had a look, in Firefox its the "File" pulldown then "Import" and it should give you the option of importing all your settings including favourites (or bookmarks) from IE.
