Youve put it on too thick  ...dont despair, when it has hardened properly, flat and polish... :thumright:

normally i'd agree adrian, but i was super careful, didnt matter how thin a coat i did, it didnt shine.

I've just lashed the last of the can on, thinking its fucked anyway, and putting it on thick has brought a shine :)  so leave it a week and flat and lacquer again :?:

DONT put any more on now!!!!!!! if you recoat  after more than 1 1/2 hours later with the petrol proof stuff it will react like fuck.Work with what you have got,if you have covered evenly you will be able to make it right with 2000 grit and g3.Remember what i said, don't worry about getting a finish straight from the can.Just cover evenly then flat and polish.Trust me  :thumright:

Here yer r Simon. Not a great picture i know. This is my mate ronnies 1923 new imperial, pictured at the gmex show in january where it won best vintage.I did the paintwork, all with halfords petrol proof clearcoat....

cheers adrian, not a cop out but i think it might have been a dodgy can.

the last 1/4 can i sprayed on brought a shine straight away.  when i was spraying the same can earlier, it just didnt 'seem' right, like all mist no coverage.

so i think theres fuck all lacquer on, maybe half a coat, + the last bit i sprayed.  I dont think theres enough coverage to flat, but maybe enough to key :?:

Simon

I am sure its not as bad as you think, had a word with my painter mate and he more or less agreed with what adrian said if you flat it right back and keep polishing i think you will be pleasantly suprised you will never get a top quality finish but at 10yds no fooker will know the difference .

cheers
