Newspaper, several thick layers draped over the bottom of the frame and lugs, or get a mate to put his fingers between the engine and frame as you manouever it into place (it's better than using your own).
Damn I think I might have boobed there...

Frame protection and thanks for having meI frequent the KTW Board and have just started my 1st small triple project a 76 KH 250A5 S-2 hybrid. I rode a friend's S2 recently and figured out what everyone has been talking about. More on that later. Here's a cheap and easy solution for protecting freshly painted frame rails when installing a motor .Plumbing insulation used to prevent pipes from freezing $2.00 for a 10 foot stick here in the U.S. and the cheapest nylon cable ties you can find : Cut it to fit ,tie it down with the cable ties and your frame rails don't look like they have been through a cheese grater.
Hope this helps... :thumright: :thumright: :thumright:

Pic of the Phoenix ProjectRick Brett custom built & donated those to the Phoenix Project:
The color is of course Kaw racing green as will be the color of Project S2/KH
This bike makes frequent appearences on the KTW Board .The USA guys there and some from The U.K. , Rick Brett in particular helped me build it through donations of parts ,money and time after my shop fire in 03 where I lost all my triple collection and for which I am eternally grateful. Mitch Boehm has also been kind enough to include the Phoenix Project story in the next issue of Motorcyclist Retro
Ps: the 500 badges are misleading on purpose , the motor is a late 71 750 :-D :-D :-D
