KH400 carbs on a KH250Hi,
I am running a KH 250 in classic racing here in belgium.
I am planning to fit KH400 carbs(26mm) on my KH250 (22mm), with expansion pipes no air filter.
I have already installed them (no cranking up yet) with the inlet manifolds of the KH400.
Any advice on jetting ? at this momen the main jets are 85
Pleas advice ?
Thx
sincerely
Would the boyer brandson ignition be a good way to go ?
Thx

yes fine as a start, did you match the gasket faces, and heat shield to the port on the 250, you might have to open it up a bit

You will also find the inside diameter of the manifolds are usually just 25mm, so you should open them up to 26mm.

I've noticed that the gaskets and heat shield are the same KH 250 and KH400 ?!
I can feel a little bump inside the cylinder of the KH250 that I am going to grind away.
Any tips on main jet ?
Thx

I'd start with 85, you may even have to jet down, trial and error i'm afraid

Hokee !
trial and error for the jetting
What do you think of the boyer brandsen ignition ? worth the money ?
tomorrow i will drive to holland (300km) for some dutch guys wo are going to calculate and make me expansion pipes !!

so what happened with the dutchies?

This is what happened
Very nice !! Wouter (engineer in thermodynamics) made the calculations and than he made these pipes by hand !!
I think they will go very well !!

wow!!!!! they look fantastic...tell us more..How much?...how much power?...how long for delivery? :D

They look really fantastic and Wouter is quite confident they will give a lot of power !
Just mail Wouter for a price quote.

Here a picture how he measured the bike. He lurned a lot from "an old two stroke race tuner" and he is already building pipes since ten years and won a lot of dirt trophy's

too cool for skool, whats the 'ste' for?
they look fast and good 8)

STE is for Scholten TEchniek ; Scholten is the man's name en TEchniek means technics
They look indeed very good, been doing some research on expansion pipes and he gave me the right answers so I think they will be very good
They are designed for a max rpm of 9500, think that will be enough for that old engine ?
Cheers,

i would say so. I believe the oil pump begins to be ineffecient at those rpm's, are you already premixiing, if not it may be an idea.
can t wait for new videos of this one :D

yes yes
oil pump on minimum and pre mix I think 3 or 2% quality synthetic

he wants 525 euros for the pipes to fit standard headers and 50 each for the stingers......

look like beets' pipes, 8)
nice one Ad,
think ya would have trouble with shorter different rearsets, the gear lever looks very close to pipe, sure this could be altered to suit though,

I've been mailing with Beet also and aparently they sell the same dimensions pipe for a KH400 and for the KH250. this made me doubt about them; if the pipes are really calculated specifically for the KH250, bad calculated pipes can rob your power.
I think that STE can make the pipes to fit your rearsets.

wow
I think i might be making trip to Holland with my 400
even if it is a shed, with pipes like that I think I could fall in love with it again
