KH 250 Gearbox Help NeededSo Fitted a rebuilt crank and replaced the selectors as the top one was badly blued with a good one from a spare engine I bought
Popped the motor back in the bike and she fired up third kick...result!!
So tonight I thought I'd go out for a test run...box a bit funny
one up four down........
So is there an easy way of sorting this without having to split the motor again?

In the time from me posting I sat and looked at the linkage rang a mate who literally P***ed himself laughing.....

its a nerve racking experience that you have built it right on a first rebuild, as you cant get select the gears properly until the lever and clutch is on, try selecting all the gears with engine sat on a bench ?, no hope in hell, took my first one apart because thought something was jammed,.
and welcome,..

The biggest bummer is when you come to try the gears and find it won't go into second....
(Re) strip the engine. then someone reminds you that on the later engines it won't, until the bikes rolling...

Noticed that you cnt run through the gears on the bench. Took her out for a short run tonight and its really sweet did notice a faint whine from the box, sounds like the transfer gearing from the Crnak to the clutch basket but I seem to remember my mates did the same in the 70's
So I've now got another one to do (one with an FLF kit on it) so I'll probably be back with more questions!

Mine whined with car oil, but was quiet again with10W40, some on here will recommend ATF.

Hm I put Shell advance oil in it so maybe I should change it for a better brand maybe Silkolene?
ATF that means Automatic Transmission Fluid to me?
