sounds cheap, guess rubbers come a long way?,..
simonh

70 quid the pair, does that sound about right, then just need to get someone to fit them
HIGGSPEED

i had a pair of them on a 400 Si, they were ok in the dry ,but lethal in the damp.
slightest bt of damp and they slid like a fried egg in a teflon pan.

you really must get out more. £5 each for michelin etc brand new, bargains out there, staffords gone now,
that exhaust in your avitar looks chocked, what is that?

its another focked piston in the centre pot of my tuned 400, bit sloppy so kept smearing the piston over the rings

You can scrimp on many things but when it comes to tyres I always buy the best I can. When some tw*t pulls out in front of you that extra bit of grip may make the difference between staying on or a big off!
simonh

spending money isnt a sure sign of getting better tyres mate, some of the 'big' brands sell shit tyres that seem to be made with PTFE
tony_d123

Thats true, obviously you do your research then buy the best you can afford. But as a very general rule the more you spend the better you get.

Personally I would steer clear of anything with Cheng Shin on the sides. I have bought bikes with these fitted (although not that pattern) and they did not inspire confidence and were quickly replaced. Those tyres are a copy of the ones I had on my GPZ600 20 years ago and tyres have come a long way since then.

BT45's for me!

Remember how we used to slag off Bridgestones and Yokohamas in our yoof, now Bridstone is the tyre of choice on the road and track. I may not have bought ChenShins 20 years ago but I wouldn't hesitate now. As Simon L says, the classic racers love em and to quote Simon H, you don't always get what you pay for on those more 'traditional' brands.

Give Chen Shins and Shinko a chance, they may be cheap but there not bad

Sorry to hear that Eric, But just think go to the pub when you want, come home when you want, no "where the hell have you been" and as many triples rallies as you want to go on
simonh
