after stripping the gearbox god knows how many times realised it wasnt selecting all the gears cos the drum was fouling on the neutral switch. :oops:
top tip, always remove switch before splitting cases :thumright:
just hoping the selector forks i've used will be ok, much better than what was there but still a bit damaged............

guess what i found in my misc box today, an undamaged selector fork :evil: fit it next time :thumright:

is the 250 gearing same as 400 cept' sprockets ?

bottomend is same.
differences;
cases are rubbermounted
different clutchbasket, + 1 extra disc
cog on rh crank diff to match basket
front sprocket
rear sprocket
and the very last 400's only, ball bearing clutch release - fooking luvly, this ones got it now...fantastic

just done the very thing yesterday !!,...yes it needs to be thinner with 400 basket otherwise 250 one rubs,
bolted it all up filled with oil and got the end cap on wrong when i thought it was right, have to take the 7th plate off to make sure it fits on only one way, should have known, done enough,..... :roll: :smt021 :oops:
