first real ridetook my S3 for its first real ride, covered 250Klm's thru city and country winders. Went like stink all the way with only a couple of things to sort out to make it even better. The front end jitters which i think I have narrowed down to a needed wheel balance, the center cylinder runs a little lean due to the air intake rubber being a tad short from age and shrinkage, the two outer ones i was able to get from kawasaki here but the center one is not available and I am wondering if there is anyone out there remaking them?. I would also like to put a decent set of rear shocks on it, any recommendations? |

Just buy another outer and cut it down to fit centre :thumright: And pretty much any shocker will be better than 30 year old ones :shock: good to hear your ride out was good, wont be long before my first of the year :-D |

probably your tyre thats duff?, i've used old tyres, not recommended but had no wobbles,.without wheel balance, skitish on acceleration but no wobbles, just a thought,....glad the old smokers up and running,.... :thumright: | ||

The centre ones are on Ebay regularly over here, they are made from a more siliconey (?) rubber than the originals and are softer. I've not heard of cutting an outer one down before, surely the bend prevents it from lining up?

I know it's not 'stock' but I traded my old S3 shocks out for ones for a KH400 that were a single wind all the way down. Talk about a ride inprovement. Night and day. Those doubles the S3 have are stiff as a board. | ||

thanks for all the replys guys, I am not getting notification of them however??
Anyway, the front tyre is new. For now i have used a bit of duct tape to seal the carb to the rubber, didn't make any difference though, still running a tad lean but nothing that will do and damage unless i put it in race mode. I'll keep hunting for a NOS, one will show up sooner or later. On the rear shocks, they are actually in good working order, I was thinking of maybe getting some gas ones. The standard shocks on all the early bikes of all makes were never much good even when new. |

well I did do it when i first joined as i was getting notifications. Anyway thanks for looking into it.
Another ride coming up tonight, I am taking a babe this time so only half the fun on the ride but twice the fun when we get back :D |
