Finally finished the scott

I bought this scott early on in the year. It's a 2 speed 600cc sports squirrel. This has been the hardest resto i have ever done.
Here it is when i got it.It had been off the road since 1973.It's then owner was killed racing at cadwell park.I bought it from his sister. Her husband had started the "restoration"

Here it is now. After many many hours and about 2000 quid,a thousand of which has been spent on the beautiful hand made german silver radiator.

That is one beaautiful motorcycle.
I never get tired of looking at bikes like that.
Have you been pilloried yet by the purists because the radiator isn't original?

Gary.

The radiator is as original as you can get these days. It's made by the scott club using the original tooling from northern radiators in leeds who made them for scott in shipley.
Gary

It always amazes me that these sort of things can still be made! Someone had a great deal of foresight keeping hold of the original tooling.

Given that it's an 80 year old bike, what's the spares situation like for them generally, or were you fortunate that it was still complete?

Were the Scott Club helpful? I got no help at all from the local BSA Owners Club branch when I did my A65.

Gary.
