Electrical Anomaly Better Project S2AI think I have the charging problem sorted now. After a lengthy consultaion with the good Dr. Haase I checked out the old stator, regulator and rectifier. All 3 checked good
I checked out the spare regulator and rectifier, good again
The only spare stator I have is rough and the cannon plugs are shite, so I went with just replacing the regulator and rectifier.
13.89 volts @ 4000 with the high beam on
I took it out and thrashed it for 35 miles, most of it on the pipe and almost all of it with the headlight on. It likes anything above 5000 5500 is better, pulls hard to 8500 signs off at 9000 6500/7000 equals about 70/75 mph.Tops out a little above 80 might pull to 90 if I had piece of straight flat road (which there aint much of here in the Shenadoah Valley).
It would rather spin the tire than pick up the front wheel , though i did manage to float it in 1st on the 1st run of the day right as the motor was coming to temperature. I have stock gearing 14/43 .

TiresTim, If your bike wants to spin the tire instead of pulling the front end up I think you need to get some new sticky tires before you lose that bike in a corner. I opened the gas too fast in a corner with an old tire and it hit about 6500 RPM and I started sliding sideways like a old dirt tracker. I don't know how I recovered without dropping it, it happened very fast.
One man's opinion.

TiresTires are the next thing I am getting.
But it will have to wait a while and I am done with the spirited riding until I get some on it...
