YOUR ADVISE PLEASE
NOW WE ARE MOVING INTO THE DIGITAL ERA, WE HAVE DECIDED TO RENEW OUR TV ETC,
WE ARE LOOKING AT BUYING THE FOLLOWING -:

     SAMSUNG 40" LCD TV ( LE40M87BDX ) & THE HOME THEATRE SYSTEM,
     
     SAMSUNG HT -TXQ120

 WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON THESE ITEMS, YOUR COMMENTS ARE APPRETIATED

Are you in the near future (3-5 years) gonna get a ps3/blu ray player?  Just bear in mind telly's only look brilliant when theyre in their native resolution.  this ones 1080 so for freeview and dvd will look much worse :shock: ie freeview is 576 so tvhas to double the picture. just think of x2 digital zoom on your camera...lose definition.  But having said that the screen is much better than most lcd tv's, good colours and near black.  but its a shiny screen so no good for consevatories etc.  Sony w2000 is a better telly for a 100 quid more

The surround system is mint, but the blue lights on it bore into your skull :shock:

Thanks for your advise,
already got digital signal with NTL +the new HD PROGRAMMES,
Son of parris, also as a ps3 , for the blue ray, So look out shops where on our way,
Once again thanks for your input.

HD Cable is still only 720p so tv will still have process picture.  but ps3 is fantastic bluray picture and one of the best upscalers I've seen for standard dvd's too :thumright:
