Went out on the 400 today.called round at sleeping beauties house but cleaner said he's in bed...at 11.30...not bad is it  :-D bike pulls very well, very torquey smooth and quiet...but it's a bit...how can i put it..bland :smt102 can't wait to get the denco's on it,that should give it the peaky power delivery which i love..like Simonh said it's possibly quicker than the s2 but doesn't feel like it because the power delivery is so linear :D

Very nice looking "400"  Heck it looks brand new.  Glad you got it running and it is good to see you riding it.  Is it a 1974???  I notice you have the Mach II decal below the 400 emblem.

I've got the Denco's on mine and the power delivery is NOT linear.  I have just started to ride and tune my Purple Haze modified 400 and its' ho hum to about 5200 then the rear wheel starts spinning in first gear if I open it wide.  I am an average rider, not one to intentionally do wheelies, so I am taking it very careful until I am comfortable with power rushes like this bike delivers from 5200-8500 rpm.

Lets be careful out there   :D  :D  :D

WOW, love the Denco's in black. Let us know how she performs as you begin to tune for the pipes as well.  Georgeous bike. Are you sure that is not a 2009 model.  :D  :D   Thanks for sharing and congratulations. LOL, I have the block of wood for my sidestand too.  :D  :D
