Hello all, I have a 1975 S3a 400. Attached is a picture of the bike. It was my sons first bike in Alaska, and is now at home in Seaside Oregon.
It is in original unrestored condition. We have however had the engine livened up by Purple Haze Racing to about 70HP. The bike had the Denco's on it when bought. I am installing a new Barnett clutch pack in it this week. We have about 500 miles on it since the engine upgrade, and the OEM clutch works fine until about 5300 rpm. When the engine comes on the pipe the front end just starts to come up and the clutch slips. I ordered a set of EBC high performance springs to go along with the new Barnett friction discs and steel plates. I hope this will cure the slippage and we can do a wheelie now and then. I also plan to run Belray 80 wt gear oil instead of the 30 wt dino oil the book calls for. The bike has a little over 11,000 miles on it. Starts second kick cold and 1st kick warm.
I am glad to have found this forum. :D

Righto, I am retired now and he has to work and pay my government retirement while I play with the triple. Yes even with baffles and packing the Denco's are obnoxious, but beautiful noise to me and my Son.
Gotta tell you a story. My son pulled up to a stoplight alonside a guy on a FZR600. The guy looked at the KAWI and my son and said, "Nice Helmet". They went at it on the green light and my son waxed the 600 bad. The guy wanted to know more about the bike after that :D :D
